Well, This Sucks




So a Mainstay Hospital Can Expand, a Signature Theater Will Go Dark

Just found out that Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center will be tearing down the Beekman Theater on 66th St. and 2nd Ave. in order to build a breast and diagnostic imaging center. Now, it's obviously for a good reason and not some God-forsaken overpriced condo (like the belated Baronet and Coronet Theaters on 59th St. and 3rd Ave.) or some chi-chi overpriced boutique but the theater was one of my old neighborhood theaters. It's wierd seeing bits of yer childhood "backyard" disappear forever.
