A Casa de Clutter Anniversary
(View of the front of my place. Behind that garage is 2100 sq. feet of cluttered condo.)
T'was 10 years ago today (Oct. 27) when I closed on the title and officially became the owner of Casa de Clutter. I can't believe 10 years as passed already!
I was dropping off a review tape to a co-committee member's home (we were on the screening committee for the local GLBT Film Festival) and I loved the floor plan, the "open-airiness" of it and the size. (2100 sq feet worth of apartment is definitely nothing to sneeze at!) Kipp said that there were 4 other apartments in the complex, one of them with the exact same floor plan as his. I made an appointment to see that one and LOVED it. I decided to buy it even though I wasn't officially looking. I told my parents I was interested and fully expected for them to tell me I was crazy, they surprized me and said "Go for it" instead.
Several haggelings with the previous owner, meetings with the agent, $48,000 down payment, and a $ 113,000 mortgage later it was mine.
I don't regret owning it although I occasionally wonder why I need so much space and so much shit but no, no real regrets.
